Jane Greenberg will be presenting her keynote, “Sharing Restricted Data: Challenges, Protocols and Implications for Digital Libraries” tomorrow, November 14th, at the joint 8th A-LIEP Conference/19th ICADL Conference,in Thailand.
Her presentation will examine the challenges associated with sharing restricted data between industry and academia, and consider the role of digital libraries in addressing current obstacles. She will highlight the work being pursed through “A Licensing Model and Ecosystem for Data Sharing” initiative, the NSF Northeast Big Data Innovation Hub (NEHDIH) Spoke data sharing initiative.
Jane Greenberg is presenting her talk, “A Licensing Model and Ecosystem for Data Sharing,” at the Board on Research Data and Information (BRDI) Symposium on November 1st, at the National Academy of Sciences, in Washington D.C.
Jane will present about current and future progress on NSF’s Northeast Big Data Innovation Hub data sharing project, A Licensing Model and Ecosystem for Data Sharing.

“The Discipline of Organizing“, a collectively produced textbook, reflects an emerging discipline that draws upon the intersection library and information science, computer science, business, law, cognitive science, and other endeavors. The book presents a transdisciplinary core, with supplemental content supporting a logical “family of books,” with thousands of siblings. And, any of these siblings could be instantiated in print or as an ebook.

IS PhD student Sam Grabus presented a poster at the NSF 2017 Joint PI Big Data Meeting, which ran from March 15th-17th in Washington D.C., hosted at the historical Omni Shoreham hotel.
The meeting was an opportunity to bring together PIs and students from all currently-funded NSF Big Data initiatives. The lightning talks and panels outlined progress on projects across all regional hubs and spokes, and identified current challenges.
